Defender signs a 3-year deal

The Chicago Stars offseason signings just keep coming. This morning, the Stars announced the arrival of former UANL Tigres defender, Aaliyah Farmer. She’s signed with the team through the 2028 season.
“Aaliyah has a unique defensive prowess, strong aerial ability and the versatility to contribute in multiple defensive roles, which we’re excited to add to our group,” said Chicago Stars FC general manager, Richard Feuz.
A Los Angeles native, Farmer joined Tigres last January after a successful college career at USC. She featured regularly in the Tigres starting XI, and scored her first professional goal against the Portland Thorns to send Tigres to the CONCACAF W Championship. She capped off her rookie season at Tigres with a thrilling comeback victory to claim the team’s seventh championship.
Farmer also earned multiple call-ups for the Mexican National Team. Her first goal for La Tri was a game-winner against New Zealand back in October.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Chicago Stars,” said Farmer in the team’s press release. “It’s an honor to be part of such a strong club that’s building something special, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. I’m grateful for the opportunity to compete, grow and play with some incredibly talented players. I’m excited to give everything I have for this team and can’t wait to get started.”
The new Stars defender will be a welcome addition to the team’s defender corps after losing Natalia Kuikka to a season-ending injury in preseason training. According to Sofascore, Farmer brings an aerial prowess (48 aerial duels won), and a better passing completion rate (81.6%) than most of the 2025 Stars roster.
Aaliyah Farmer is the 8th new signing for the Chicago Stars this season. She joins fellow new defenders Michelle Alozie, and Elise Evans as the club looks to rebound from their team-worst 54 goals scored against in the 2025 season.
